As fentanyl and overdose deaths skyrocket, founders launch new recovery/addiction treatment center - NOLA Detox and Recovery Center

As fentanyl-related overdose deaths skyrocket in the greater New Orleans area, NOLA Detox co-founder and CEO Dan Forman plans to bring “new recovery treatment approaches mixed with New Orleans’ hospitality” to the new 36-bed facility. Now is a better time than ever for the new facility as Jefferson Parish, Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich says he’s beginning to notice a troubling trend. “Our fentanyl-related deaths have been skyrocketing,” said Cvitanovich. As the numbers are beginning to show, an opioid and fentanyl addiction crisis is growing across the greater New Orleans area. This led city leaders to join Dan Forman and other NOLA Detox and Recovery Center founders at the facility’s launch. There’s already a waitlist for NOLA Detox at St. Luke’s Medical Center. Learn more about how NOLA Detox plans to change the older models of addiction treatment and treat addiction “just like any other genetic illness that people are typically born with.”
